Students at Star City Music Studios won a combined $1500 in scholarships and awards, in addition to achieving the highest rating of superior in at the National Federation of Music Clubs Junior festival, and performing in area winners’ and honors’ recitals.
Isabella Fiers, Aiden Fiers, Dereon Grenee, Natalie Hammond, Walter Houston, and Evelyn Mood all distinguished themselves over the last months in the following events:
Isabella Fiers – Winner, E. Gustin Award; Winners Recital performer; Honors Recital performer (9 year consecutive superiors); superiors in Piano Solo and Piano Concerto Events
Aiden Fiers – Winner, DMC Scholarship; Winners Recital performer; Honors Recital performer (3 year consecutive superiors); superiors in Piano Solo and Piano Concerto Events
Dereon Greene – Winner, Diara Skriblis Award; Winners Recital performer; superiors in Piano Solo and Piano Concerto Events
Natalie Hammond – Honors Recital performer (3 year consecutive superiors); superiors in Piano Solo and Piano Concerto Events
Walter Houston – Second Place in the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs Young Composers Event for his piece, “Merry Christmas To You All.”
Evelyn Mood – Honors Recital performer (3 year consecutive superiors); superiors in Piano Solo, Piano Concerto, and Violin Solo Events
